San Clemente Wedding Photographer
San Clemente was planned as a Spanish Village by the Sea, and that blend of old California and open ocean still shapes the way a wedding feels here. I'm Kaitlin Mace, a film and digital wedding photographer based in Orange County, and I love days that feel grounded in their place: relaxed, personal, and full of the people you chose to have beside you.
A rainy day wedding at Casa Romantica
Kelsey and Chase's wedding day arrived with a confirmed forecast of heavy rain. Instead of working against the weather, the day seemed to rise to meet it.
Chase got ready at his parents' house, and we took his groom portraits in the backyard with the town spread out behind him. Kelsey shared the sweetest dress reveal with her girls, then saw Chase for the first time at their first look, overlooking the ocean at the back of Casa Romantica.
The rain held off just long enough for them to finish their ceremony. Dinner and speeches moved under cover in the courtyard, where their moody details matched the sky perfectly and a serpentine sweetheart table became one of the most striking design choices of the day. We headed inside for cake cutting and open dancing just as the sky opened up and the rain came pouring down.
It's one of my favorite reminders that a wedding doesn't need perfect weather to be unforgettable. Sometimes the forecast becomes part of the story.
“Her kindness and flexibility made the entire experience feel effortless, even when things got hectic.”

Planning your San Clemente wedding photos
A beautiful coastal timeline comes down to a few practical details. We'll plan around the light, how far you need to travel between locations, and how much time you want for portraits without missing your guests.
If you're dreaming of the beach, the city notes that parking can be difficult and guests may have a long walk. Wind, surf, summer crowds, and train noise are also part of the picture, so we'll build in extra time and choose your ceremony and portrait times with those in mind.

San Clemente Wedding Questions
-
Yes, for a small ceremony. The city's beach guidelines allow ceremonies of 20 people or fewer. Beaches can't be rented, and you can't rope off an area, so your ceremony will share the space with other beachgoers.
-
The city's guidelines allow a small arch, a canopy, or a few chairs, but not an extensive setup. Amplified music, catering, rental setup, alcohol, and glass are not allowed.
-
The city's park rental policies call for a permit for a wedding ceremony or reception. Alcohol is not allowed in city parks, so check your plans with the Recreation Division early.
-
The city lists room for up to 120 guests, and ceremonies can take place on the adjacent grounds. Its rules include limits on music and decor, so review the current rental policies before you plan the details.
-
We'll adjust the timeline with you and your planner as the forecast changes, and we'll look for the best covered spots at your venue. Kelsey and Chase's wedding had heavy rain in the forecast, and their day still came together beautifully.

Yes. I photograph weddings of every size, from intimate ceremonies to full wedding weekends. A smaller day can leave more room for each person and each moment.
